‘I believe that clothes have a longevity and that they should assimilate into one’s exisiting wardrobe. Sometimes we need a piece that will be complementary to what we already have and other times we want the piece to transform us and change things. In recent years I have worked alot with the design of jackets and coats ‘capi spalla’ and I am often inspired by military garments and menswear. I find that their structural and functional aspects work well with feminine colours and fabrics.

I like to look beyond and play with cliches and stereotypes of femininty and design clothes which have relevance to reality. Some women want to be sexy and gorgeous 24/7 and some don’t. Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder and I believe women need to trust what they see in the mirror and be less critical. Good design enhances this process. We have a vast history of clothing and styles available to us - the research and transformation of these for daily use is in constant evolution. Observing and interpreting this information is my principal role as a designer.‘
